Let us consider the meaning of krama (sequence) and what the traditional scriptures like us to understand it:
tatra kramo nama vitati-visesah paurvaparya-rupo va (krama- sequence- means arrangement of certain objects in a particular order) – Artha-samgraha-p.12.
Determination of the order of sequence of several acts (in a sacrifice), one has to depend upon six means—namely—sruti—direct assertion as to order, artha—purpose, suitability, patha—verbal texts, pravritti—commencement, kanda—place in the text, mukhya—principal. These six chief means primarily decide the course of a particular order of a set of acts.
nityam-abhyasatah kramat—daily practice in an orderly manner—Amrita-bindu-upanisad-28.
It is suggested in this text that in the context of practice of some certain techniques, an order is expected to be followed. Or in other words, whatever is practised becomes an order.
kramad-evam svam-atmanam bhavayat—in an orderly fashion even the enquiry of the Self has to be made—vasudevopanisad-3.
This ascertains the significance of an order even to realize the Self.
