OM  TAT  SAT

When a seed sprouts, a part of it grows inside the soil and other part grows above the soil.  Roots spread towards the direction of darkness, while the trunk moves towards light.  This natural tendency of growth resists all obstacles.  If the roots are exposed to light, they change the direction.  Whereas the trunk spreads only towards light.  The flame of a light moves only upwardly.  Though a drought of wind may disturb the tranquil flame of the light, but in absence of wind it becomes steady again.  Just as it is natural for the roots to grow towards the darkness, similarly, it is natural for the flame of the light to maintain steadiness and upward mobility.

Every object has its natural and innate tendency.  This understanding helps us in searching for an answer to the enigmatic nature of life.  Natural tendencies are never borrowed.  Just as fire don’t seek outside for heat.  Heat is its natural quality.

Each human being is constantly in search of  the Eternal Bliss which is the nature of Atma, though (the same is being sought after) in the form of (sensory) happiness.  ‘Sat’ means Eternal.  ‘Sat’ also means Nitya (Truth, which does not undergo change or modification).  A Jiva (embodied soul) does not want to perish. Jiva craves for Immortality.  Physical existence is not permanent.  It is mortal.  A Jiva expects Immortality even from this mortal body.
